Dexter Area Fire Department, Michigan

Knox Box

LOCKED DOORS

NO ONE AT HOME

AFTER BUSINESS HOURS

These are just a few of the problems that the Dexter Area Fire Department has encountered while responding to MEDICAL EMERGENCIES and FIRE ALARMS

  • Have you ever thought, what would happen if you were at home and couldn’t get to the door to let the Fire Department in?
  • What would happen if your fire alarm goes off and no one is home?
  • Do you know of an elderly person that lives alone?

The answer to these questions is simple A KNOX BOX

What is a Knox Box? A Knox Box is a secure entry system that ONLY the Dexter Area Fire Department can open in the event of and emergency.

Here’s How It Works, Call the Dexter Area Fire Departments Fire Marshal Division and request a Knox Box Company form. Send the completed form to the Knox Box Company and your Knox Box will arrive unlocked to your home or business. All you have to do is call the Dexter Area Fire Department to confirm the location of the Knox Box and once installed we will come to your home or business and place the needed keys into the Knox Box.

ALL KNOX BOXES MUST BE PLACED ON THE DOOR OR OUTSIDE WALL FACING THE ROAD OR STREET SIDE OF THE BUILDING
